Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) has confirmed {that a} non-native brown trout has been caught within the Flathead River, which is likely one of the final strongholds for native westslope cutthroats. As a result of brown trout can outcompete the native fish for assets, the state is asking anglers to kill each brown trout caught within the watershed and to carry the fish to an FWP workplace, to allow them to research it.
